Meet my Canine Companions Napal, Rue, and Yago. Lifelines in Fur and Faith, United in a Mission of Healing, Purpose, and Hope.
Napal
In Loving Memory of Napal
Napal was more than just my first service dog, he was the one who started it all. At a time when darkness and pain threatened to define my life, Napal became the light that guided me forward. With unwavering loyalty, quiet strength, and a heart full of love, he helped me find purpose again.
He was my constant companion through the best and worst of times, offering not just assistance, but friendship, healing, and hope. Napal walked beside me as I rebuilt my life, and in doing so, he changed it forever.
His incredible impact is captured in my book, A Dog Called Hope, which tells the true story of how he helped pull me from the edge and gave me a reason to live again.
Napal didn’t just change my life, he helped shape the mission I now live every day.
Rue
In Loving Memory of Rue
Rue was the perfect dog for that chapter of my life. Full of energy and always eager to work, she brought joy, purpose, and a spark of unpredictability to every day. Her unique personality drew people in, everyone who met her fell in love. She was more than a service dog; she was a loyal companion and a constant source of strength.
After 8 faithful years of service, Rue retired with my twin sister Julie and her family, where she enjoyed a well-deserved life of love and relaxation. She passed at the age of 12 in September 2024 with Me, Julie and Yago by her side.
Rue left paw prints on countless hearts, and her legacy lives on in every step I take.
Yago, Active Duty
Meet Yago
I’m thrilled to introduce my new service dog from Canine Companions: Iago II, or as we call him, Yago, which means “May God protect.” Though he’s only been by my side a short time, Yago has already shown that he’s the perfect fit for this next chapter of my life. He’s smart, affectionate, focused and let’s be honest, he’s downright handsome.
Following in the pawprints of two remarkable dogs, Napal and Rue, Yago has some big shoes to fill. But I have no doubt he’ll make his own legacy. His calm strength, loving heart, and quick learning have already turned heads, even earning him a spot on Good Morning America.
Together, we’re building something special. And just like the dogs before him, Yago isn’t just a service dog, he’s a partner, a lifeline, and a daily reminder that hope and healing often come on four legs.
